Yesenia Salgado ~ Oaxacan Silver Jewelry

 

Yesenia hails from the Antiguas Maravillas Family Workshop, one of only five remaining families that are actively preserving the traditions of this type of filigree jewelry that is particular to the Central Valleys of Oaxaca Mexico. Yesenia’s family workshop is the only one of these five to be made up of a majority of women, in an art form traditionally dominated by men.
