Romig Streeter ~ American Potter

"The Herd" are a group of small cups that Romig has been working on for the past year. She has something like 600 of these little individuals. Different clays : porcelain, gritty stonewear. Some with a glaze: matte, high shine. Some without. All with gentle whites and beiges and celedons. Various types of firing. High fire, soda kiln, woodfired anagama.  These started out as Coracino/Limoncello cups but Romig uses them for green tea, black and white teas, Nolacino, expresso and even just water. The "Squid Plates" came along rather recently to accompany a few of her "Herd". They are all this dark black/brown clay of Joy's and they were all fired in the anagama. A yearly gathering of Romig's tribe of which she is kind of the matriarch.
